The residence was designed in 1982 to take into account the severe worldwide energy crisis of the 1970s.  The design employed prevailing practices for passive solar assisted heating, continuous exterior wall insulation (CI), installation of a high efficiency masonry wood heater design, used for centuries in Europe, full time air destratification and filtration, and total home envelope insulation.  With nearly forty years of living experience in the home, it has more than met expectations for both comfort and efficiency.  With a remodel in 2011, the HVAC was upgraded to geothermal for added efficiency and convenience and in 2015 the siding was replaced with HardiBoard™ cementitious fireproof board siding.

We have loved living on this farm every minute of the nearly 40 years we've been privileged to live here.  It may truly be described as a place of "PEACE, EARTH and SEASON".  Now as proactive seniors recognizing that downsizing is in our best interest we are ready to pass the farm on to perhaps a younger family.
